There's an art shop in my neighborhood. Look at these cute little paintings, each with the name of a different neighborhood in the area.

When I was in 3rd or 4th grade, the teacher read to us in class a little bit from Harriet the Spy. But then one day before she finished, she stopped, telling us that the book was available in the library. I wanted to know what happened so badly, but I never checked it out because I thought it was a "girl's book."

There's this video that I remember from my childhood. It must have regularly come on right as Saturday morning cartoons were ending. It was the opening bit to Indiana football or basketball games.

Yesterday, I went to one of the normal places I go for coffee in the morning. I set my bag down on a table outside, and then I noticed that there was some dried up jelly on the table. I went in, paid for a coffee, and asked the lady for a towel to wipe the jelly. I expected, "Oh, I'm sorry. Let me come wipe that for you," but instead, she just handed me a damp towel.

There are a couple of little things that I found surprising about buying things that coil up in Eurpoe.

I just heard that the Washington Redskins store had a Cyber Monday sale. Great deals, we missed, but you had to go to the web site, pick out what you want, and phone them to place your order.

You would think that the people in Hong Kong Phuey's city would figure out his true identity.

Suppose I was a professional golfer. And suppose that I found myself doing pretty well on a Sunday in a tournament. Well enough that I'm in the final group, paired with Tiger Woods.

I wonder if Mad Magazine has done a spoof with Harry Potter with a lot of nose hair, but called him "Hairy Snotter." Probably like ten years ago.

I clicked a link to read a news article this morning, and the page that came up had a few advertisements, including this one.

I have anger issues this morning. I don't have any good reason to be annoyed, but the messages in my Inbox at work are getting on my last nerve. Reading documents with crap like this are part of my problem:

Here's a quick note to whoever borrowed, broke, or stole the ashtray from the Regal Beagle on New Year's Eve: we bought another one. They're only eight bucks, so here are some thoughts:

I caught just a minute of the Jim Rome show yesterday, and he had listeners emailing sports-related haikus. It didn't sound too challenging, so I thought I would make up some about my local sports life.

People need some fucking manners. Here are some workplace stories about when they don't have them.

Sometimes, when I have half a thought but not a full one, I'll jot down a little note. Sometimes they turn in to a real idea. Once in a while, I start writing about it, and the idea flows into a whole post. On the other hand, I have a whole page of half-thoughts that went nowhere. Here is a collection of some half-thoughts that have no chance of becoming a whole post on their own merit.

This marks the first of many entries that I will make during my Thailand trip. I'm not sure exactly how this travel journal will play out, but I would expect it to differ in style frm the rest of the blog in some way or other. I'm making this entry from my PDA at the Baton Rouge airport, so it may be short.
