I pulled this cool graphic from gq.com. It's a tree showing what bourbons (and similar whiskeys) come from what. For example, your bottle of Knob Creek is just Old Crow that aged long enough to turn into Jim Beam, which aged long enough to turn into Knob Creek. The full sized graphic is here.
