At work, we have typical office carpet, made for lots of foot traffic. You can spill a whole mug of coffee on it with no discernable stain once the liquid is dry. In some places, it has started to tear at the seams, and the solution that someone came up with is to fill the seam with some sort of glue. So those spots look like this:
