Going through old posts, I'm surprised about how much I used to post about work. I didn't realize back in the 00's that I worked in a uniquely silly place with people good at their jobs who shared my humor. Here's a post where we return to workplace stories. I don't think it will be a habit.

This morning, I went to work without my phone. It was on purpose, but I didn't think about the fact that a good bit of what I needed to do was behind a 2-factor authentication that was only tied to an alert on my phone.

I contacted big corporate support early, hoping they have a way to set me up another authentication method. I got back an automated email with a link to a Sharepoint page that answers most of the questions.

I followed that link, and got the message that I don't have permission on that page. But it did have a box where I could explain my interest and request access. I filled that out like the good little corporate stooge.

An hour later, I got another automated email:

Fuck big corporate processes right in the ear.

Unrelated: what I'm listening to as I type.

The track "namesake" has been in my rotation for years, but I've been listening to the whole thing lately.

Hilarious album cover. It resembles the artist, except that she's actually quite pretty.
