The theme this year was to parody the oil spill in some fashion. Jim built oil platform table centerpieces, and he did them so that the above-water parts were way above our head. That left us to come up with costumes as various types of oil-stained sea life.
As you've surely seen by this point, Sharples and I were memaids. The costumes were much more popular than I would have imagined. I must have taken 50 pictures with strangers.
